Increased levels of serum creatinine were observed for carriers compared to non-carriers among African American sepsis patients stratified by either rs4952085 or rs1884725 genotypes (panel A). African American sepsis-only patients who were carriers had the highest serum creatinine levels (4.07 ± 1.78, n = 71) compared to non-carriers (3.24 ± 1.58, n = 99) (P < 0.0002, panel C).
