Increased expression of extracellular matrix-related genes following TGF-β1 stimulation in fibroblast mono-culture model on culture day 21. The expression levels of 84 genes were analyzed using PCR; 14 genes were commonly up-regulated in both co- and mono-culture models with 10 ng/mL TGF-β1 stimulation. The expression of these 14 genes in a mono-culture model is summarized graphically. Data are shown as means ±95% confidence intervals of triplicate inserts. *p < 0.05 (Student’s t-test against the control)
