NMDAR activation upregulate lung fibroblasts α-SMA and collagen expression in hyperoxia exposure newborn rat. The protein levels (A a-b) and gene expression of α-SMA (A c) were significantly higher in cells stimulated with hyperoxia (P < 0.01) in newborn rat lung fibroblasts. The protein levels (B a) and gene expression of type I (pro) collagen (B b) were also higher in cells stimulated with hyperoxia (P < 0.01). Treatment with NMDAR antagonist MK-801 inhibited these changes (P < 0.01). PCI: type I procollagen.
