Inflammatory cell numbers in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in response to a single ovalbumin (OVA) challenge and treatment with saline (sal; control), tiotropium (tio; 0.1 mM; nebulizer concentration), and/or ciclesonide (cicl; 1 mg/kg). Guinea pigs were treated as described in Fig. 1a. A bronchoalveolar lavage was performed 25 h after OVA challenge and inflammatory cells were determined. a total cells, b eosinophils, c macrophages, d lymphocytes, e neutrophils. ** p < 0.01, *** p < 0.001.
