Mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA) as described in Methods. On the first day of OVA challenge (day 14, see Methods) a miniosmotic pump containing PBS (1×/100 ul) was inserted subcutaneously and delivered a constant dose of 25 ul/day. Cell counts were determined by differential staining of cells isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid. Total serum IgE and BAL cytokines (R&D Systems) were measured by ELISA.
