Potential target sites for therapeutic strategies. In view of the viral life cycle, there are several potential targets for the development of antiviral drugs. Starting from the binding of the virus to the target cell, the spike protein or receptors such as angiotension-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), cell entry or the different replication steps may be targeted.
