(A) Inhibition of geranylgeranyl transferase (GGTI-2133), rather than farnesyl transferase (FTI-277) mimicked the statin affect, inhibiting ET-1 release. (B) Inhibitory effect of exoenzyme C3 (C3, 1 μg/ml) and the Rho kinase inhibitor Y-27632 (10 μM) on ET-1 release. (C) Induction of MMP-9 production following dual stimulation with TNF-α (10 ng/ml) and PMA (0.1 μM) in serum-free (SF) medium. (D) Inhibition of MMP-9 production by simvastatin and reversal by mevalonate (MVA, 100 μM).
