From: Oxidative stress augments toll-like receptor 8 mediated neutrophilic responses in healthy subjects
Effect of dexamethasone on the H 2 O 2 -potentiated IL-8 release in the R848-treated PMNs. PMNs were treated with or without dexamethasone for 30 min before treatment with or without 50 μM H2O2. Then, cells were treated with R848 for 24 hours. Media were assayed for IL-8 by ELISA. Vertical axis: IL-8 relative release (-fold increase). IL-8 relative ratio was calculated as follows: IL-8 relative ratio = IL-8 levels in the various conditions/IL-8 levels in the vehicle-pretreated and R848-treated condition. All values are mean values ± SEM of six separate experiments. ++p < 0.01, compared with the values of vehicle pretreated R848 treated group; **p < 0.01, compared to the values of H2O2 pretreated R848 treated group.
