Quercetin treatment improves differentiation of COPD BC. 90% confluent monolayer of COPD BC treated with DMSO (COPD-P) or quercetin (COPD-Q), and normal BC were cultured at air/liquid interface for 4 weeks. The cultures were fixed in 10% buffered formalin, embedded in paraffin. Five-micron thick sections were deparaffinized and stained with H & E or PAS. The images are representative of cells obtained from 3 normal and 3 COPD subjects. The arrows in panel A represent ciliated cells and arrowheads in panel B represent PAS positive cells
