From: Clarithromycin attenuates IL-13–induced periostin production in human lung fibroblasts
Effects of erythromycin, josamycin, and ampicillin on periostin production in MRC5 cells. MRC5 cells were cultured for 24 h in the presence of the indicated concentrations of dexamethasone, clarithromycin, erythromycin, josamycin, or ampicillin. Then the cells were stimulated with 50 ng/mL IL-13 for 24 h. Periostin protein in supernatant was measured by ELISA. The same experiments were performed twice. Bars are depicted as mean ± SD.
