  1. Rats obtained intratracheal 50 μg goat-IgG (without) or 50 μg goat polyclonal anti-TNFα antibodies (with anti-TNFα antibody) preceding hyperoxic treatment. Hyperoxia of rats was carried out as described in Material and Methods. Values are means ± SD of n = 3 independent experiments given in percent (hyperoxia without anti-TNFα antibody = 100). Determination of TNFRI (Western blot) and of caspase 3 activity (colorimetrically) was as described in Material and Methods.). Asterisk indicates a significant difference compared to control (p < 0.05).
