Pups were injected daily with arginine buffer (circles; A, C, E and G) or ibuprofen (50 mg/kg/day; triangles; B, D, F and H) until 10 days of age. Arrows indicate blood vessels. The number of pulmonary vessels stained with vWF (I) or CD31 (J) was determined on paraffin sections in rat pups on day 10.
