Neutrophil recruitment and fibrogenesis in VG-induced lung injury. VG administration increased expression of the neutrophil markers Ly6G and MPO and of the central mediator of fibrogenesis TGF-β in the lungs of mice with LPS-induced ALI. AC Intratracheal injection of LPS increased expression of Ly6G, MPO, and TGF-β in the lungs. VG administration induced changes similar to those seen after LPS administration and enhanced the changes induced by LPS.
