From: Upregulating carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 attenuates hyperoxia-induced endothelial cell dysfunction and persistent lung injury

Fig. 7

Treatment with l-carnitine and baicalin attenuated neonatal hyperoxia-induced apoptosis in the lung. C57BL/6 J mice (< 12 h old) were exposed to 95% O2 for 3 days, and allowed to recover in air until pnd14 and pnd60. Mice were treated with l-carnitine (LCT, 150 and 300 mg/kg, i.p.) and baicalin (BLN, 50 and 100 mg/kg, i.p.) daily between pnd4 and pnd13. EdU incorporation (A–C), TUNEL staining (D–F) and caspase-3 activity (G, H) were evaluated in the lung. Scale bar: 100 μm. N = 5–6. **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 vs air. †P < 0.05, ††P < 0.01, †††P < 0.001 vs O2/veh group using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s multiple comparison test
