Comparison of the IL-1Rα, IL-8, and MIP-1α serum levels between IPF (n = 100) and controls (n = 32). Serum IL-1Rα [median (interquartile range): 121.9 (63.8–175.6) vs. 34.7 (4.4, 58.7) pg/mL, P < 0.01], IL-8 [8.7 (7.0–14.6) vs. 3.4 (1.3–6.1) pg/mL, P < 0.01], and MIP-1α [1.8 (1.3–2.7) vs. 1.1 (0.8–1.5) pg/mL, P < 0.05] levels were significantly higher in the discovery cohort than in controls. The discovery cohort and the control group were compared through analysis of covariance to adjust for age, sex, and smoking history, and the results were corrected by the FDR method. *P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01
