Histological examination of mouse lungs. Left lungs of mice were fixed in 4% PFA and processed for paraffin blocks. 5 μm tissue slices were cut and stained with hematoxylin and eosin and imaged. Images at 100× are included for saline (a–c), HDE (d–f), and LPS (g–i). Changes in inflammation were apparent between saline, HDE, and LPS, treatments, but CO2 co-treatment appeared to have little effect
