Lymphoid follicles from female smoke-exposed mice expressed CD45+ and CD20+ cells with infiltrating macrophages co-expressed with BAFF. Female smoke-exposed mouse lung sections were stained antibodies against CD45 (green) and BAFF (red) (panels a-d), CD20 (green) and BAFF (red) (panels e-h), macrophage (green) and BAFF (red) (panels i-l), and secondary only (panel m-p). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue). Green and red fluorescent staining were merged as indicator of co-localization (yellow).
