Mucous cell metaplasia is increased in MyD88 KO mice repetitively exposed to inhalant ODE. Wild-type (WT) and MyD88 knock-out (KO) mice were treated i.n. with saline or ODE daily for 3 weeks, whereupon lung tissues were collected, formalin-fixed, and paraffin embedded. Lung sections (5 μm) were PAS-stained for mucus cell determination with representative images for each treatment group shown (a).
