  1. Mice were challenged with saline (control) or endotoxin (LPS). After 21 h, animals received treatment with normal saline (NS) or the arginase inhibitor Nω-hydroxy nor-Arginine (norNOHA). Blood gas analyses were performed during occlusion of the left mainstem bronchus. N = 7 per group
  2. PaO2 arterial oxygen tension, PaCO2 arterial carbon dioxide tension, pHa arterial pH, BE base excess, Hb hemoglobin, mmHg millimeters of mercury, mmol / l milimoles per liter, g/dl gram per deciliter
