Effects of UFH on LPS-induced p38 MAPK activation in HPMECs. Cells were pretreated with UFH (10 U/ml) or the indicated concentrations of SB203580 (5 μM, 10 μM, and 20 μM) for 30 min, and were then exposed to LPS (10 μg/ml) for 6 h. p-p38 and p38 were detected by western blot analysis. The intensity of the band corresponding to p-p38 was corrected to that of total p38 MAPK. UFH or the p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580 (10–20 μM) significantly inhibited LPS-induced phosphorylation of p38 MAPK. t-test, * P < 0.05, compared to the vehicle-treated control group. t-test, ** P < 0.01, compared to the vehicle-treated control group. t-test, #P < 0.05, compared to the LPS-treated group. t-test, ##P < 0.01, compared to the LPS-treated group. t-test, ###P < 0.01, compared to the LPS-treated group
