Induction of IL-1β and IL-18 release by NHBE cells infected with HRV and monocytes stimulated with LPS. IL-18 and IL1β production was measured by ELISA in the supernatant of NHBE cells 48 h after infection with HRV14 (a) and in the supernatant of human monocytes isolated from healthy donors and stimulated for 24 h with LPS (b). Data show individual data points for each donor and summary bars indicate median for each condition for n = 5 donors.
