Effect of in vivo administration of an NK1 receptor antagonist on the anti-IAV activity of SLIGRL-amide in mice. Groups of mice were injected with L-703,606 (8.5 mg/kg, i.p.) or vehicle (control), and 30 mins later intranasally inoculated with IAV in the presence or absence (saline) of SLIGRL-amide. A further four days later, BAL was performed on each euthanased mouse and the total numbers of leukocytes recovered was determined, as shown (mean ± s.e.mean of 4–5 mice per group). *, indicates P <0.05 compared to respective IAV + saline control (one-way ANOVA)
