The effect of YKL-40 treatment on the proliferation and migration of human lung fibroblast cells. The cells were treated with 0, 10 or 100 ng/ml YKL-40 for 48 h, then resuspended and counted (a); The cells were treated with 0, 10 or 100 ng/ml YKL-40 for 0 h, 24 h and 48 h, then cell viability was measured with CCK-8 assay. Increased number of YKL-40-treated fibroblasts versus control fibroblasts was observed (b). Representative images of human lung fibroblast cells treated with YKL-40 or untreated, at time 0 and after 48 h of incubation were shown. Increased fibroblast migration was observed in YKL-40-treated fibroblasts versus control fibroblasts (c). Results are expressed as percentage of recovered wound area (d).
