Continuous infusion of CNP attenuates the induction of pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic cytokines in BLM-administered mice. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis of interleukin (IL)-1β (a), IL-6 (b), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) (c), collagen 1A (d), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP) 1 (e), transforming growth factor (TGF)-β (f), and guanylyl cyclase (GC)-B (g) mRNA levels in lung tissues on day 14 after BLM administration was performed. The relative mRNA expression levels of each cytokine in normal control, BLM plus vehicle-administered, or BLM plus CNP-administered mice are shown.
