From: Plk1 regulates MEK1/2 and proliferation in airway smooth muscle cells

Stimulation with PDGF induces the phosphorylation of Plk1, MEK1/2 and ERK1/2 in smooth muscle cells. Human airway smooth muscle (HASM) cells were stimulated with 20 ng/ml PDGF for different durations or left unstimulated. The phosphorylation of Plk1 (a), MEK1/2 (b) and ERK1/2 (c) in these cells was evaluated by immunoblot analysis. The phosphorylation levels of the proteins in stimulated cells were normalized to corresponding unstimulated cells. * Significantly higher phosphorylation levels in stimulated cells compared with unstimulated cells (P < 0.05).
