Regulation of miR-146a by CSE is independent of RelB. (A) miR-146a- CSE: 2% CSE significantly increased miR-146a expression only in Normal lung fibroblasts at 3 hours (fold-induction: 5.44 ± 2.4; * p < 0.05). Results are expressed as the mean ± SEM of normalized miR-146a levels; n = 4 independent experiments utilizing fibroblasts from 4 different subjects of each phenotype; post-hoc analysis was performed by Fisher’s LSD. (B) miR-146a-CSE RelB siRNA: There was no significant difference in basal or CSE-exposed (3 hrs) miR-146a levels in siRelB cells (black bars) compared to siCtrl cells (open bars). Results are expressed as the mean ± SEM of normalized miR-146a levels from 2–4 independent experiments.
