Rats inoculated intratracheally with heat-killed C. neoformans (HK-IT) did not demonstrate statistically significant increase in BALF chitinase activity. B) Chitinase activity remained elevated in the BALF on day 14 of infection (BAL-INF) when compared with controls (BAL-PBS).
