From: Human bronchial fibroblasts express the 5-lipoxygenase pathway
Synthesis of cysteinyl-LTs and LTB 4 by human bronchial fibroblasts. Fibroblasts were cultured for 72 hours in the presence or absence of TGF-β1 (10 ng/ml) before they were washed and stimulated for a further 2 hours with calcium ionophore A23187 (1 μM, filled column) or vehicle (open column). Levels of total cysteinyl-LTs (LTC4D4E4) (A) and LTB4 (B) in culture supernatants were then measured by EIA. Mean ± SEM (n = 9).
