Effects of TGF-β on expression of contractile proteins, 5-LO pathway enzymes and leukotriene receptors in fibroblasts from normal and asthmatic subjects. Fibroblasts were cultured in the presence (+TGFβ) and absence (-TGFβ) of TGF-β₁ (10 ng/ml) for 72 hours before staining with specific antibodies for actin, myosin, 5-LO, FLAP, LTA₄H, LTC₄S, BLT1 and CysLT₁R and analysis by flow cytometry. Horizontal bars represent median values of all experiments where data points from normal donors are presented as a hollow square (n = 5) and asthmatic donors as a filled circle (n = 4).
