Effect of inhaled tolafentrine on the degree of muscularization and on the medial wall thickness of small pulmonary arteries. Immunohistochemical analysis of lung sections originating from saline (Control), monocrotaline (MCT[42d]) and monocrotaline plus tolafentrine (MCT[42d]/Tola) treated animals. Staining was undertaken for von Willebrand-factor (brown; endothelial cells) and alpha smooth muscle actin (purple; smooth muscel cells) as well as elastin. Scale bar: 20 μm.
