Distribution of radiolabel liposomes 72 hours after instillation of LPS. Whole lung distribution of the total recovered 3H-liposomes instilled 2 hours prior to killing. Animals were killed 72 hours after instillation of saline (Con 72) or 100 μg/kg O26:B6 lipopolysaccharide (LPS 72) where the lungs were lavaged, lavage cells isolated and whole lung tissue homogenized. Radioactivity was subsequently measured in cell free bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), isolated BALF cells and whole lung tissue homogenate (Tissue). Data are means ± SEM and expressed as a percentage of total recovered radiolabel; n = 6 animals/group. Statistical significance * = p < 0.05 vs. respective control group.
