From: Platelets stimulate fibroblast-mediated contraction of collagen gels
Cell numbers in collagen gels estimated by DNA content. Floating collagen gels containing 300 000 fibroblasts/mL gel (HFL1), HFL1 and 108 platelets/mL gel (HFL1/Plt) or fibroblasts and undiluted platelet lysate, (HFL1/Lys) were cultured for two days. The gels were then dissolved in collagenase and DNA contents in pellets were determined by a fluorometric assay. Control is collagen gels without cells or lysate.
