Effect of DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitor 5-aza-2′-deoxycytidine and HDAC inhibitor trichostatin A on TGF-β impairment of glucocorticoid-inducible gene expression. BEAS-2B cells were incubated with inhibitors for 30 min prior to treatment with TGF-β (40 pM) for 24 h before stimulation by dexamethasone (30 nM) for 4 h after which RNA was extracted and analysed by qRT-PCR. Gene expression is expressed as fold change from control. Data are presented as mean and SEM for n = 3-4 independent experiments *P < 0.001.
