Increases in lung dendritic cells following chronic cigarette smoke exposure is IL-1R1/IL-1α-dependent . C57BL/6 wild type, IL-1R1- (A), and IL-1α-deficient (B) mice were exposed to cigarette smoke for 8 weeks. Whole lung cells were analyzed for CD45+ CD11chi MHC IIhi dendritic cells by flow cytometry. Results are presented as mean ± SEM of at least five mice per group. Data shown are representative of at least two independent experiments.
