IL-4 and histamine repress the S100A7 secretion by epithelial cells. The nasopharyngeal epithelial cell line FaDu was cultured in the absence or presence of IL-4 (10 ng/ml) or histamine (10 μM) for 24 h followed by measurements of S100A7 in the culture supernatants by use of ELISA (n = 6).
