CSE and LPS induce ERK 1/2 phosphorylation. Serum deprived BTSM cells were treated with CSE (15%) or LPS (1 μg/ml) up to 2 h. Cell lysates were analyzed by immunoblotting for phospho-ERK 1/2 (Thr202/Tyr204) and total ERK 1/2 to correct for differences in protein loading. Phospho-ERK 1/2 was quantified using densitometry and normalized to the maximal response in each experiment. Representative blots are shown.
