Histologic evaluation of lung injury in mice. A. Representative lung sections from mice after single intratracheal instillation of normal saline, or 2 ml/kg HCl, or 10 mg/kg LPS. The LPS-treated or control mice were sacrificed at 24 h, and the HCl-treated animals were sacrificed at 4 h after instillation, and left lung lobes were taken from mice. The lung sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and are shown at X 200 original magnification (bar = 50 μm). B.
